As a Brave Space for LGBTQ Youth, Florida’s Ballroom Scene Stages a Bold New HIV Prevention Program
With support from a $20,000 Susan Terry Foundation grant, the Central Florida Ballroom Collective will launch a peer-led program to increase access to HIV education, prevention, and care navigation.
Rooted in Ballroom culture’s extended family structure, the initiative is designed to meet people where they are through trusted community relationships, peer health ambassadors, and culturally responsive prevention education.
