New RAPID Project Connects Emergency Department Patients to HIV Prevention Care
Supported in part by a $25,000 Susan Terry Foundation grant, Tampa General Hospital and the University of South Florida Department of Emergency Medicine have launched the RAPID project to help connect high-risk emergency department patients with HIV prevention medication, education, and follow-up care.
The pilot program combines health informatics technology with peer navigation to create a more direct, supportive care pathway for people who may otherwise face barriers to HIV prevention services.
